Rise/Rapture
The second half of The White City series, titled Rise/Rapture, investigates the next phase of the journey into the utopian world. It progresses through unknown gates before focusing on intricate details such as entrances, courtyards, and gardens. These transitional moments are depicted as a spectacle, like a stage set, to a central scene of an event. The perception of space and place is left to the viewer’s imagination, as each panel evokes a blend of fragmented memories and sensory impressions. The whimsical images evoke a dreamlike realm where the boundaries between play and reality blur.
